| The origin of "Tsu Festival" was made by Takatsugu Toudou, one of the local government leader of this area
in 17th century. In every October, there are big events at the center part of Tsu city, blocking all traffic of the route 23.
Visitors can enjoy famous Takatora's old parade of many Samurais,
Citizens' Dance, Shagouma Dance, and so on. Particularly, "Toujin Dance", which is said to be origined from old Korean delegation of more than 300 years ago, and is nominated as one of prefectural treasures, is quite highlt evaluated. Their beautiful cloths, humorous masks, and their funny dance utilizing many kinds of music instruments are very interesting, and exotic. The websites of "Toujin House"(Toujin Dance Museum) are available in Japanese and Korean. From 1991, large "Anotsumaru" float, and from 1999, active "Anotsu Yosakoi Dance" were introduced, and contributing to enhance atmosphere and tension of our festival.
